Are there tools that you go back to time and again?  We shared our top three tools of the moment back in June 2016. However, life and work at Red Desk are ever-evolving, and these are our three free tools that we are loving right now!

Toggl

We don’t know where we would be without Toggl, our online time-tracking tool.  We use it to track the time spent on our clients’ projects.  We just hit start when we pick up their project and then stop when we pause for a break or move onto another piece of work.  At the end of the month we can run a report and it generates a timesheet which shows the breakdown of our work which we can then send onto our clients.

For many businesses the free version of this app will be sufficient but you can subscribe for enhanced features from $10 a month.

Did you know that the sign of a good Twitter account is that you have more followers than are following?

If you want to actively grow your Twitter following, you are going to need a good analytics tool which can weed out your inactive followers and help you find new people to follow.  We have started using ManageFlitter, and Lindsay has this to say about it:

‘ManageFlitter could not be easier to use & I’m using it with all the twitter accounts we manage.  There is no point tweeting to an inactive account & now you can easily identify which accounts are not worth following & remove them. By doing this you can improve your ‘following’ & ‘follower’ ratio & giving you a more effective twitter account.’

They hook you in with a free account (probably enough for basic growth) but if you want to seriously grow your account, take a look at their paying features ranging anything from $12 to $999 per month!

Twitter Analytics

We’ve written an indepth article on how to set up a Twitter Analytics account but we thought we’d just shout out about how much we still LOVE it!

Twitter Analytics has become part of our weekly social media routine.  When we schedule our weekly posts, we log into Twitter Analytics at the same time as our Twitter account.  We take a look at which posts performed the best to guide us when creating the new content for the week.

We also use Twitter Analytics to find out who our top followers are as it is important to note key social media influencers!

On a side note do make sure you’re using your twitter ‘lists’ feature, create lists of your favourite contacts or accounts who’s tweets you don’t want to miss.  Using twitter lists enables you to really make the most of your twitter account.

Anyway, we’d love to hear from you.  What are your favourite tools that you are loving right now?
